7 Free (or Almost Free) Ways to Show Soldiers Your Appreciation |
Since the inception of the program, we have been contacted about families that don't have a computer to keep in touch with loved ones overseas. Since we are a small business, we can't donate many computers, but we are happy to say we at Arizona Computer Outlets through the Computers For Soldiers have been able to help some of these great military families in their time of need. For privacy reasons, we are not providing too much detail about the family or their particular situation that lead us to make the donation.* May 26, 2010 - As supporters of the Army Wife Network, Computers for Soldiers became and All American Sponsor of their May Field Exercises and donated two computers to Army Wives and their families.
* May 11, 2010 - While at Fort Stewart, we donated two computers to be distributed to needy military families that were going to be deployed soon.
* May 11, 2010 - Provided a laptop for a deploying soldier who's family (wife and children) needed a way to keep in touch while he was overseas.
* May 8, 2010 - To thank the Ladies Auxillary at a VFW in Oklahoma City for all their support and hard work during our OK event in November, we gave them a laptop when we were back in OK!
* March 29, 2010 - Donated a laptop to a family in the Army Wife Network. The winner, Penny, was announced on their radio broadcast on 3/29/2010. All entries, as well as the winning entry can be viewed here.
* March 25, 2010 - Through Operation Homefront, we found out about a family that was in need and donated a laptop to the Wiley family. To see the news video, click here. To see a photo collection, click here.
* February 2, 2010 - A desktop was donated to the family of a deployed soldier. Her two children had been unable to speak with their mother while she was in the Gulf. With the help of another member of the military we were able to get the family connected.
Computers Donated to the Fisher House:
We have finished raising donations for the Landstuhl Fisher House. We are proud to say that between our business, Arizona Computer Outlets and our friends we have raised 9 computers for the Fisher House! Each laptop purchased for the Fisher House, also was shipped with a laptop bag and webcam! Our thanks go out to:
